The project focused on enhancing internal communication within Connections, enabling seamless exchanges between brokers, customer support, and companies. I successfully implemented an internal messaging system for efficient communication between brokers and CS teams. Additionally, basic gamification features were added to increase engagement and productivity.

About the project

Connections is a tool that allows brokers to capture and engage with hot and qualified leads in real-time through various channels like Chat, phone calls, and WhatsApp. However, there was no internal communication feature to enable brokers to interact with their colleagues. 

Research process

In this project, I utilized the double diamond method to apply design thinking. Acknowledging the complexity and interdependence of various involved areas, I chose this approach to ensure effective communication and harmonious collaboration between teams. Through both vertical and horizontal communication channels, we fostered a constant exchange of information, ideas, and constructive feedback. This method empowered us to make well-informed decisions aligned with the overall project needs, resulting in a more decisive and successful outcome.

With the new functionality, users can access internal and communication groups with Zipia. They can create or participate in chats with colleagues, enabling seamless communication within Connections!

About the project
In Connections, brokers can already communicate with potential clients, but there was no internal communication feature within the platform. This forced users to rely on external tools like Teams or WhatsApp, which could burden brokerage operations and distract users from the platform. The objectives of this project were:

Facilitate Collaboration Among Teams

Enable brokers to create or participate in chats with colleagues and specific teams, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among team members.

Reduce Dependence on External Tools

By providing an internal communication solution, the aim was to reduce the need for external tools, streamlining brokers' workflow and improving brokerage operational efficiency.

Introduce Gamification Elements

Add basic gamification features, such as badges and rankings, to encourage active participation of brokers and increase engagement with the platform.

Beyond Communication

By leveraging gamification, the internal chat system became not only a communication tool but also a rewarding and engaging experience. Brokers embraced the platform, fostering efficient collaboration and seamless communication within Connections. This innovative approach successfully differentiated our system and brought a new level of desirability to the platform, ultimately benefiting both brokers and the brokerage operations as a whole.

Small Rewards

With each successful sale and achieved target, brokers received collective congratulations, activating the power of social proof. Additionally, they were rewarded with small incentives daily, encouraging them to accept more connections and diligently fill data into the system.

Broker of the week

During the interviews, brokers shared motivational dynamics, including the practice of electing a "Broker of the Week" based on sales performance, which some companies had implemented. To replicate this dynamic within Connections, we designed a feature that automatically calculates and highlights the top-performing broker of the week. This not only eliminated the need for manual calculations for managers but also added an enjoyable and engaging element to the platform, fostering a positive and motivating environment."
